The Influence of Education and Entrepreneurial Mindset on the Entrepreneurial Interests of Entrepreneurship Students at the University of Muhammadiyah Gresik
Abstract
Coronavirus Disease 2019 is a significant problem faced by the world, including Indonesia. The government has implemented lockdowns and large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) policies. As a result of this policy, the economic sector has a negative trend because many companies have temporarily stopped their business processes, creating massive unemployment. Based on bps.go.id, the number of unemployed university graduates has increased from 740,370 in 2018 to 746,354 in 2019 and 981,203 people in 2020. This study aims to determine the influence of entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurial Mindset on the entrepreneurial intention of entrepreneurship students of Muhammadiyah Gresik University. The population and sample of this study are 90 students in the entrepreneurship program. Data collection methods using questionnaires have been tested for validity and reliability. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique uses Partial Least Square (PLS). The result of this study is that the entrepreneurial intention variable explained by entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurial mindset variable only 0.386 or 38.6%, while other variables explained 61.4%.
