Author Guidelines

Authors intending to submit manuscripts to MERR (Management, Entrepreneurship, Research and Review) are required to follow the guidelines below.

  1. Originality

The submitted manuscript must be an original work of the authors and must not have been previously published in any journal or other scholarly publication. A manuscript submitted to MERR must not be simultaneously submitted to or under review by another journal.

  1. Scope

The manuscript must be relevant to the focus and scope of MERR, particularly in the areas of Management, Entrepreneurship, and related fields.

  1. Manuscript Preparation

Authors are required to use the article template provided by MERR. Manuscripts should be systematically prepared and follow the structure specified by the journal. In general, a research article should include the following sections:

  • Title
  • Author Names and Affiliations
  • Abstract
  • Keywords
  • Introduction
  • Literature Review / Theoretical Framework
  • Research Methods
  • Results
  • Discussion
  • Conclusion
  • Implications
  • References

The structure may be adjusted according to the type of manuscript and the specific requirements of the journal.

  1. Title

The title should clearly, specifically, and informatively reflect the content of the manuscript. It should be concise and avoid unnecessary words or abbreviations.

  1. Abstract

The abstract should provide a concise overview of the manuscript, including:

  • the research background or objective;
  • the research method;
  • the main findings; and
  • the conclusion or implications.

The abstract should be understandable as a standalone text and should not contain unnecessary citations.

  1. Keywords

Authors should provide relevant keywords that accurately represent the content of the manuscript. Keywords are used to facilitate article indexing, retrieval, and discoverability.

  1. References

All sources cited in the manuscript must be included in the reference list, and every reference listed must be cited in the manuscript. Authors are encouraged to use relevant, recent, and academically credible sources.

  1. Citation and Reference Style

Authors must follow the citation and reference style specified in the MERR article template and Author Guidelines. The use of reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or equivalent applications is strongly recommended to ensure consistency and accuracy in citations and references.

  1. Tables and Figures

Tables and figures must be appropriately numbered and provided with clear titles or captions. Each table and figure should be referred to in the main text. Authors are responsible for ensuring that the use of tables, figures, images, or other materials from third parties does not infringe copyright or other intellectual property rights.

  1. Research Ethics

For research involving human participants, respondents, personal data, or other human-related subjects, authors are responsible for ensuring that the research is conducted in accordance with applicable research ethics principles and regulations. Authors must protect the confidentiality and privacy of participants and should not disclose personally identifiable information that is not necessary for the purposes of the research.

  1. Author Contributions

All authors listed in the manuscript must have made a meaningful contribution to the research and/or preparation of the manuscript. The order of authorship must be agreed upon by all authors before manuscript submission. Changes to authorship after submission should only be made in accordance with the journal's editorial policy and with the agreement of all authors.

  1. Conflict of Interest

Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the research, interpretation of findings, or publication process. If no conflict of interest exists, authors should state this clearly in the manuscript.

  1. Funding

If the research has received financial support from an institution, organization, grant, or other funding source, the funding information should be clearly acknowledged in the manuscript.

  1. Submission

Manuscripts must be submitted through the MERR Open Journal Systems (OJS) by following all submission procedures provided by the journal. Authors are responsible for ensuring that all article metadata, including author names, affiliations, email addresses, abstract, keywords, and references, are entered accurately and completely in the OJS system.

  1. Revision

Authors are required to revise their manuscripts in accordance with comments and recommendations provided by the editor and reviewers. If an author chooses not to implement a particular reviewer recommendation, a clear and academically justified explanation should be provided in the Response to Reviewers document. Authors should ensure that all revisions are carefully incorporated before resubmitting the manuscript.

  1. Final Responsibility

Authors are fully responsible for the content of their manuscripts, including the accuracy of data, originality of the work, appropriate citation of sources, accuracy of references, and compliance with research and publication ethics. By submitting a manuscript to MERR, authors confirm that the manuscript complies with the journal's publication requirements and is not simultaneously submitted to or under consideration by another journal.
