Building Financial Awareness through Behavioral Finance Education in Entrepreneurship for Students at SMP IT Al-Kafi
Abstract
This limited financial knowledge often manifests as a highly consumerist lifestyle, a lack of self-control, and an inability to manage pocket money wisely factors that risk triggering serious financial problems in the future. Through this integrated approach, the education aims not only to produce economically savvy students but also to cultivate the character of young entrepreneurs; assessment is conducted both quantitatively and qualitatively using behavioral observation rubrics. Evaluations are carried out intensively while students participate in the interactive "Entrepreneurship Market" simulation and group discussions. Participants demonstrated the ability to identify common consumerist pitfalls faced by adolescents while simultaneously practicing proportional fund allocation. Combining a behavioral finance approach with interactive entrepreneurship modules effectively transforms adolescents' financial awareness and habits. Behavioral finance education works by fostering "delayed gratification" (the ability to postpone immediate satisfaction) and creating a cognitive pause before spending decisions are made.
